Noa loves makeup!

I don't ever remember putting on my mom's makeup ... in fact, I didn't even learn to do my own makeup until I was like 30!

While preparing for bedtime, Noa said, "I love you than all the ponys in the world."  It's so cute, she always leaves 'more' out.  She loves My Little Pony and her favorite ponys are Rainbow Dash (rainbow tail) and Twlight Sparkle (purple body). 

First Day of School - 2015

Noa is in her second year of preschool.  She will continue to be in Teacher Tanya's classroom, it's a fabulous integration program where all students benefit!  The first day, she cried and had to be pried off me.  In addition, the first thing she told school staff was that she had an earache ... can you say FAKER?!  Last year, she learned that bells and whistles go off when someone says they don't feel good, and some things you just don't forget. 
I gave Teacher Tanya's a heads up and told her to tell Noa that if her ear hurt, and she needed to go to the school nurse, she wouldn't get to play with her friends.  Naturally, Noa had a miraculous recovery! 

She certainly takes after me, I was always in the nurses office in school... as I like to say, some things are just in the DNA.

Dance Practice

Noa has two dance performances this week so were scheduled for two days of practice.  She practiced yesterday without a problem.  Today she refused to dance so I did what any real mom would do, and I bribed her McDonalds.  It didn't work.  On the way home she whined about going to McDonalds but I stood my ground and said no.  Noa got really mad and said, "well I'm leaving."  I asked her where she was going and she said she was going to Mexico and never coming back to this world.  I then asked her who was going to cook dinner for her and she said, " the man that knocks on your door."  Noa's only Mexican experience was on a cruise ship with room service! 

We came home ate dinner and I didn't allow any t.v. for the rest of the night, which was only an hour.  I'm sure tomorrow will be better! 

Swim Lessons

Noa was finally ready for formal swimming lessons ... she has an amazing teacher and is doing great ... thank you, Melanie!

Couchsurfing in Chicago

Noa and I are visiting Chicago! We are on our first couchsurfing experience and our host, Greda Evans, is AMAZING! She believes, 'there would be a lot less war if people traveled more' ...

Today, we visited the Willis Tower, North America's tallest building. We had fun on The Ledge, which is a glass balcony on the 103rd floor! We also visited Navy Pier and rode the ferris wheel where we had a view of Chicago's skyline. It would have been beautiful at night, but I wasn't up for navigating public transportation in the dark.

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, pretty girl! Four years old today! I'm waiting for you to wake up so I can give you your presents!

Your teacher celebrated your birthday on the last day of school. Mommy took in cupcakes, Teacher Tanya, Monica, and Liz gave you a doll.

Tonight, we are having your party at Chuck E. Cheese's!

Mother's Day, 2015

Noa made me two special gifts for Mother's Day.  At school, she made a colorful flower in a sparkly gold pot.  At Rita's, she put her handprints on a leather canvas.  Both presents are so special to me.  We spent Mother's Day at Legoland! 

"I Don't Love You Anymore!"

Noa,

Yesterday, you were put in time-away for demanding pizza and whining.  You went to the brown couch (our designated time-away spot) and said, "I don't love you anymore!"  You repeated yourself, trying real hard to get a reaction out of me but it didn't work.  The timer went off, you apologized and we went about our day.  I didn't take it personally, I know you were just trying to express your anger.  I love you more than you know!

Cinco De Mayo

Dance Class

Noa sees her cousin, Tommy, dance and loves to dance along with him.  I signed her up for the tap and ballet class at MacKinnon Dance Academy in Oxnard.  Supposedly, tap and ballet are the ABCs of dance.
